Digital Luggage Scale

Don’t ever fear those stupid overweight baggage fees again!  Get a compact and portable luggage scale for you or someone you know today.

I didn’t have a digital luggage scale with me then, but I sure wish that I would have.  It would have saved me a lot of trouble!

I don’t fly a whole lot, and I am definitely a penny-pincher.  Naturally I was outraged at the price of taking bags on a flight, so I tried to pack as efficiently as I could.  It worked great when I was flying out, but it was nightmare on the return flight.  Have you ever noticed how much more stuff you have on your return flight?

I put everything I could in my bags and foolishly fought to keep a $10 notebook that I had bought.  Unfortunately, that $10 book cost me $40 in overweight baggage fees!  Stupid, stupid, stupid.  If only I would have had one of these portable and compact baggage weighers, I would have saved money in the long run.

Why risk being charged $50 for an overweight bag.  Just saving one fee can pay for a baggage scale twice over.

Clark Balanzza Ergonomic bag weigher is top of the line.  You can get a great grip with this hand-held scale because it is ergonomically designed to fit your hand.  It has a 100-pound maximum weight which is generally enough to weigh any piece of luggage.  Simply attach the strap to your travel piece and lift it off the floor until you hear the beep.  It doesn’t take but just a second or two.

This travel scale uses AAA batteries which you can purchase at just about any store.  If you travel at all, this will be a great time and money saver.  Normal list price is $40, but you can easily find this online for half that price.

Now just to get an idea of general baggage restrictions for airlines, I looked at Delta’s excess baggage terms.  At Delta, you can have no more than 4 checked pieces.  There are also size and weight limits on the bags themselves.  Delta clearly states that you could actually be charged 3 fees for just one bag – a fee for an extra bag, a fee if that extra bag is too big, and another fee if that extra bag is too heavy!  I imagine those baggage fees would be as much as your flight ticket in the first place!

Naturally with all of the airline security restrictions, there are many items that you cannot take on an airplane in the first place.  These items are generally broken up into checked and carry-on.  There are some items that you can’t carry on the place but you can place in your checked luggage.  This just ensures that you can’t access these items during the flight.

Here is small list of items you can have in your checked luggage but not in your carry-on – box cutters, razors, sabers, scissors, golf clubs, pool cues, ski poles, baseball bats, etc.

Of course, this is not a complete list and you should check the airline government regulations to get more information.

So eliminate at least one flying concern with a digital luggage scale.  Don’t ever worry about those darn fees again!
